Book Review: The Everything Cooking for Dogs Book

Is this dog food book (The Everything Cooking for Dogs Book) a great one? I feel it gets a 4 out of 5.

For the past half a month, we've been cooking a meal a day for our dog - it feels real wholesome, nutritious and fresh compared to kibble. We've yet to take the leap to feed him all home-cooked food, so he gets kibbles for lunch and fresh food for dinner. Knowing that our dog is having at least 1 out of 2 meals with no preservatives, flavorings and additives gives us a greater peace of mind.

While it's a bit more hassle compared to just pouring out kibble, cooking for our dog is a joy. To see him sit and wait anxiously as we prepare his dinner is worth the effort. He never fails to make us feel like executive chefs.

The Everything Cooking for Dogs Book feels like a well researched book with section by ingredients and types, and has one dedicated to dogs with wheat or gluten allergies.

The 150 recipes are presented either by types (e.g., biscotti, decorated, hand-rolled) or by ingredients (e.g., eggs, chicken & turkey, meats, seafood, rice & pasta). You'll be spolit for choices. It'll never be boring for your dog!

The first chapter on dog nutrition was comprehensive yet not too lengthy. I suppose it's a good book to start with if you're cooking for your dog. Most of the recipes call for natural ingredients, without artificial processes or additives. So it's definitely 2 thumbs and 4 paws up for this book : )
